Cakes in the Lakes

When Nora Curry, Operations Manager - Customer Support Centre, and Justyn Castle, UK Reporting Analyst, decided to raise funds for Mountain Rescue, they did it in style. As part of a 16 strong walking group and  with the very practical help and support of Northgate colleagues, they set up a café 1,000 feet up Scafell Pike. After hauling supplies and borrowed equipment up England's highest mountain, they set up shop, complete with tables and chairs and set to work serving hot drinks and cakes to surprised climbers who were only too happy to support the effort!

With almost £1,400 raised in the one off event, Justyn, who is Chairman of the walking group commented, "It was very hard work but the team gave an immense amount of commitment and the atmosphere created was electric. We are overawed at how much money has been raised! Thank you to everyone who supported us!"
