A for effort
A 470km charity cycle ride would put most people off from the start. But not Lisa Davis, Account Manager for Northgate East Midlands. She embarked on the challenge of a lifetime to cycle from Mount Kenya to Lake Victoria involving five, 10 hour days of riding on rough terrain - in temperatures often over 30 degrees.
Motivated by raising £12,000 for Women v Cancer before she set off, Lisa experienced some incredible physical challenges but she says they brought out her competitive spirit.
"Day 3 was the shortest cycling day, just 58 miles, but it proved to be the toughest as we had an elevation gain of 7,734ft. When I eventually hit the summit the view was spectacular." she commented.
Congratulations to Lisa for putting in the time and dedication needed to prepare - and for the incredible amount of money raised for a very important cause.
