The Position

Our Asset Management team makes sure that we get the right vehicle in the right place at the right time. We work closely with purchasing to ensure that we have the most efficient and effective fleet in our business at any given time. As an Asset Planning Manager you will provide data management and analytics to support the work of this fast paced team. You will use your analytical skills to offer relevant and accessible information to the stakeholders and business decision makers who need it. A customer service focus will be essential in building strong relationships with stakeholders and interfacing teams such as Business Information.
You will have excellent commercial and market knowledge that you will use to make recommendations about how to achieve optimum utilisation of assets and the best return on investment. You will bring degree level qualifications and relevant experience in data analysis and have a background within a progressive supply chain / replenishment role. Knowledge of the rental and automotive industry is desirable.

The Position

As a procurement category manager you will procure a variety of goods and services for a particular category (e.g facilities or vehicles including; parts, tyres, dealer services) across a significant multi £million spend. No two days are the same as you will continually manage and review expenditure for your category as well as getting involved in tendering, service enhancement and internal controls to identify cost reduction opportunities and deliver savings.
You will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the business as it grows by developing and delivering category strategies and recommendations that move the business forward. You will already have a proven track record in delivering cost savings in a procurement role and you will be educated to degree level in a relevant area, ideally possessing or working towards MCIPS. The Position
Technology is key to Northgate, supporting us to do our jobs in the most efficient way to allow us to provide the best possible service we can to our customers. For an IT Support Analyst customer service focus and communication skills are vital in dealing with queries from our 1800 users over the phone, via e-mail and face to face. Analysts quickly resolve issues for our users escalating specialist queries to the correct team (e.g servers or applications). Working closely with colleagues as part of the wider IT team Analysts deliver support projects that help to grow and develop the business.
Analysts have a passion for technology and enjoy working in a busy environment to challenging deadlines. Typically you will already have gained relevant technical IT knowledge (e.g Microsoft, Active Directory, Exchange) and have a qualification such as ITIL / Microsoft. An IT degree is desirable although we do run an apprenticeship programme within IT and we are keen to support our people in gaining relevant qualifications to progress their careers with us.

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk at Northgate you will work as part of a friendly, supportive team who are responsible for ensuring that suppliers are accurately paid for authorised work. You will add invoice data to the ERP system promptly and accurately, querying any elements that do not match the Purchase Order. You will reconcile supplier accounts in preparation for payment and talk to depots and suppliers over the phone to gather information to help solve queries. Our team members work flexibly and autonomously and help out with other tasks such as filing and archiving and other general finance tasks as needed.
You’re likely to have a background in a numerical or analytical role with a good level of data processing skills and an understanding of accounts payable processes. The Purchase Ledger team is a great basis from which to learn about Finance and if you prove yourself here there are opportunities to progress and develop into other areas of the Finance team.

The Position
As a Credit Controller at Northgate you will deal with customers who for a variety of reasons have not paid their invoice. This might be down to a dispute over billing or possibly a customer in financial difficulty. You might need to provide extra information so customer understands the charges on their invoice or you might need to speak to sales teams or other departments to get further facts. Credit Controllers have strong analytical and communication skills to understand and solve the problem, protecting our business whilst retaining valued customers and maintaining good working relations -even in the event of a dispute. Sometimes Credit Controllers deal with customers who feel angry or frustrated with a situation so it’s important to explain the situation firmly and calmly to achieve a resolution. Organisational skills are key to record communications and follow up where appropriate.
You’ll be part of a friendly and approachable team who are there to provide help and support if you need it. Credit Controllers joining Northgate have typically worked in a similar role before and have experience in a customer facing role and are comfortable negotiating a solution.

Customer Service Agents are the first point of contact for our customers, turning enquiries into reservations either over the phone or face to face. Our nationwide van hire network and fleet size means we can guarantee customers a vehicle within as little as four working hours’ notice if they are within 25 miles of a Northgate branch - so things can get pretty busy here! Our busy Support Centre Team of 15 treat our customers with the utmost care and as Manager you’ll ensure targets are met to continue to provide a proactive and professional service.
You will support and develop your team making sure they have the skills and training needed to do a great job. You’ll also manage attendance, provide coaching and performance management where necessary. If the team need help you’ll be there to assist in resolving any escalated issues and make sure they know how to deal with the issue next time. You’ll bring with you excellent administration and organisation skills and the analytical skills to solve problems quickly. The Team Leader supports a team of 15 across the IT helpdesk and Business Application support teams to deliver excellent service to our internal team of over 1800 users.
We support a range of systems from ERP, mobile PDA solutions plus network, server and desktop environments in a mainly Microsoft / SQL / Wintel estate. The Support Team Leader is also responsible for governing Change Management and external third party supplier services and SLA’s, as well as implementing core ITIL processes and continual improvement strategies. This is a fast paced team that delivers to deadlines and SLA’s so we all need to be on the ball. We muck in together to support each other and maintain our high standards.
